Used by the Spanish in the 1500s and reconstructed between 1819 and 1834, the large brick Fort Morgan was in service during the Civil War, Spanish-American War and both world wars. Visitors can now explore the fort and visit an on-site museum with exhibits that feature items from soldiers who served at the fort, including weapons, uniforms, letters, photographs, and personal items. The fort is just across the bay from Mobile and next to the Gulf of Mexico.
Fort open daily Apr - Oct: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; Nov - Mar: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Museum open daily 9:00 a.m. - noon and 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Adults $5; Seniors (65+), College Students, and Military $4; Children (6-18) $3; Children under 6 are free.
